It's Just Not Your Time Yet

Unfortunately the pressures of life can get so overwhelming and consuming that many times we beat ourselves up when a new business we are building just doesn't take off fast enough. Especially after putting in all the hard work. It can get extremely frustrating when we see many of our peers highlighting their highs on social media, that we often forget everyone also has a low in life.

Reality is no matter how hard you work on your dreams or launching that new business (with taking on all the right steps to do so), everything has a timing. Success is not a destination, it's a journey.

For the past two years, I have been working extremely hard on my career goals in the entertainment /media industry, launching the brand of Inside The Girls Room, while also re-launching the foundation of a non profit organization that I started back in college. Just all in all, setting goals for myself on where I would like to be in the next few years of my life before approaching my 30s and 40s.

Truth is there is no real set timing on when I will reach my ultimate goal, no matter how much hard work I put into it. Why? Because everything in life has its own timing. To put unrealistic time limits and constraints on ourselves as human beings is literally suicide/ homicide.

What happens when things don't turn out the way you envisioned. As an entrepreneur and dreamer you have to expect that things are going to go wrong and that in business or in chasing your dreams stuff doesn't turn out the way you expected all the time.

I became so obsessed with my goals and aspirations, that instead of just enjoying the journey, I wanted to rush my process. My drive and ambition consumed my every day life, that I was more focused on making it and not learning the lessons along the way. There was absolutely no balance in my life because it was all about my success. This led to a breakdown in which my body and mind got tired.

If you don't get to the goal when you said YOU would , does it mean you won't ever get there? No! It just means that when you get to where you're going, you'll appreciate it that much more, learn lessons from the journey and understand why it took longer for you to get .

It takes years to build a powerful empire and it takes wisdom to understand why certain things don't happen fast enough. As long as you continue to go after what it is you love and be OK with the level you are currently at right now, you will get to where you are going. Be patient with yourself and your journey. Don't give up, just remember sometimes it's just not your time yet. You have to always trust the process !
